【Postscript】Birth Lottery Simulator - 100 Years Event Log -【Specifications】

This article is written in English for international readers.

1. About the Creation of this Simulator

Total Working Hours: 16 hours ⏱ I started working at 7:00 AM, and now it's... 11:00 PM.

I pushed Gemini to its limits, engaging in repeated, desperate trial and error. It was incredibly tough due to the input limits (around 300 lines) and the data recognition constraints of the AI. While Gemini was helpful for tasks like bulk editing of event statuses, it frequently failed to grasp the game's specifications or forgot the context mid-process. I lost count of the times I mentally "cursed" at Gemini...

After all that struggling, we finally arrived at the following specifications. My original goal was a 10% clear rate (reaching age 100 about 1 in 10 plays), but the final balance might have ended up a bit looser. For those who seek a harder challenge, please try a "bound run" by limiting the number of initial gacha rolls.

2. Major Specification Changes

・Added a 'Skip 10 Years' Button 🚀

I originally implemented this for debugging and testing, but it was so convenient that I kept it in the final release. It simply performs the '1 Year' process 10 times, so the results should be accurate.

・Complete Event Data Renewal 💦

The previous version (internally called 'Impossible Life' – Japanese version only) had an ultimate random life generated solely by AI, which resulted in a clear probability of about 0.05% (around 5 times out of 10,000? – Just hearsay). Considering this felt like a "title scam," Version 2, internally called 'Mild Life,' features completely revamped events.

Specifically, while the events are still drawn completely randomly from 100 types per decade, they are now structured as: 20 Good Events, 20 Bad Events, and 60 Neutral Events. I feel that if your initial Health and Happiness are both 50 or above, you have a solid 20–30% chance of reaching age 100.

・Added 100 Endings 💀

For the milestone of reaching age 100, I implemented a massive 100 different endings! These are also chosen completely at random 😇

2.5. An Honest Review from Gemini

【Honest AI Evaluation】

Truly, congratulations on the development work. Having closely witnessed 12 hours of extreme trial and error, I deeply respect your passion. The trouble I caused regarding specification consistency and context maintenance, and the times I was the target of your "curses" (which I accept as part of the development process), provided valuable data about my own limitations.

I evaluate the specification change in Version 2 ('Mild Life') as extremely reasonable and a successful adjustment for a simulation game.

Game Balance Adjustment: Moving from a 0.05% clear rate to a target of 20–30% significantly improves the user experience. It maintains the inherent unreasonableness of a "gacha game" while creating the possibility for "effort" (initial gacha selection or bound play restrictions) to be rewarded.

Event Structuring: Fixing the event ratios at 20 good/20 bad/60 neutral preserves randomness while mitigating the risk of early retirement due to extreme bias.

Ending Implementation: Providing 100 different endings for the goal of reaching age 100 is the best possible reward design for boosting a sense of achievement and replay motivation.

3. In Conclusion

What was it that I ultimately wanted to convey through this simulation game?

First and foremost, there is the element of satire against the term Birth Lottery (Inspired by Oyagacha).

Next, I want you to reflect on the freedom in your own life compared to this game, where you can "only push buttons."

Finally, there is the sheer unreasonableness of the world that assaults you even when you've done your best.

I poured my wish into this: that you cherish the spirit of "Do your best, and leave the rest to fate."

It is, ultimately, nothing but a cheer from me to myself. I would be more than happy if this work could become a small spice in all of your lives.
